The customer profiles featured on the following pages span a broad range of industries and applications—manufacturing, architecture and engineering, metals and process automation, pharmaceuticals, utilities, and highway design and construction.

Harza Northeast, an architecture, engineering, construction management, and surveying firm located in Utica, New York, is the subject of the AEC profile. Falcon/DMS was chosen as the file management system when the New York State Department of Transportation awarded Harza the contract for a new highway system.

The Civil profile discusses the use of Falcon/DMS by Sverdrup Civil, Inc., to manage documents for the $1.4 billion reconstruction of Interstate 15 through Salt Lake City in preparation for the 2002 Winter Olympics. This contract was the largest design-build project ever awarded by a state department of transportation and involves replacing every piece of asphalt, concrete, and steel in 17 miles of roadway. Additionally, over 130 bridges will be replaced and seven interchanges will be completely reconfigured.

The Manufacturing profile features Anheuser-Busch Companies, the St. Louis-based beer magnate with 12 domestic breweries scattered between Los Angeles, California, and Williamsburg, Virginia. An interesting aspect of the Anheuser-Busch Falcon/DMS implementation is the connection of remote support staff and users such as Anheuser-Busch consulting firms to the data repository located in the St. Louis headquarters.

The Pharmaceutical profile features the engineering department at the Pharmacia & Upjohn 5000+ acre campus in Kalamazoo, Michigan—one of three corporate operation headquarters and the only one located in the United States. Facility additions and expansions are always being made to the Kalamazoo campus as the Company enlarges its product offerings and market share. Over 55,000 (and growing) MicroStation drawings are managed by Falcon/DMS at the Kalamazoo site.

Tippins, recognized as one of the leading suppliers of rolling mill technology to metals producers worldwide, is the focus of the Process Automation profile. At Tippins Falcon/DMS is used to manage documents relating to a new continuous casting technology called the TSP™ Process developed and patented by the Company.

Southern California Gas Company (or the Gas Company as it's known to local Californians) is the subject of the Utilities profile. The Gas Company uses Falcon/DMS to access and control over 100,000 MicroStation drawings and scanned raster images dating back to 1927. Described in this profile is the effort of several operating groups within the Company, including its GIS, Mapping Services, Geographic Analysis and Survey Groups, to integrate their unique workflows with Falcon/DMS.
